Intimate, live performances showcasing the best in acoustic, folk and singer songwriters

Next upcoming concert

Sun. May 18, 2008       7:00PM       $15
Chuck Pyle

Admired as a sly humorist and an innovative guitarist, Chuck Pyle has performed for the Colorado Legislature, on Austin City Limits, and at Bill Gates' home. He's had his songs recorded by John Denver, Chris LeDoux, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band & Jerry Jeff Walker. He sees what's best about America, writing songs about love lost & love found, forgetful cowboys, heroic highway patrolmen, and brain stems gone "critical".
"Vivid landscapes flow from Pyle's pen with grown up themes of the New West . . .[his] big campfire-smoked voice and solid guitar work anchor the song... it's really quite impressive how full the orchestration sounds with only Pyle's voice and guitar." - Eugene Weekly, Eugene OR

Full Schedule

We, Jim and Susan Holmes, welcome you to Three Pines House Concerts. We started this house concert series as a way to provide professional singer/songwriters with a place to perform for an eager audience. We also want to create a way for our friends and others in the community to hear some truly talented performers.

A house concert very simply defined is a musical event presented in someone’s home or another small space such as a backyard or community meeting room. It was very aptly put by singer-songwriter, Johnsmith, who said it is “Music as it should be…in the home, from the heart.” It is a chance to introduce some wonderful singer/songwriters to an audience in a setting where people are gathered to focus on music. From the beginning of time music has been an enriching experience. We are sure that house concerts have actually occurred for thousands of years. Sometimes it was just families getting together to share some music and fun and other times a few neighbors would drop in and share the experience.

Three Pines House concerts provide the chance to enjoy live music in an intimate setting. Our fine performers are drawn from throughout North America, and appear regularly at clubs, festivals, and other large stages. Shows typically last about three hours. Doors open 30 minutes before show time. The artists usually play two 45 to 60 minute sets with a 15-30 minute intermission.

We provide some light refreshments. Guests are welcome to bring something to share during intermission.

We collect a suggusted donation from each audience member on behalf of the artists. We do not take any of the ticket proceeds, 100% of all donations go to the artist.
This is a LISTENING venue, no talking during performance! Visiting before show, during intermission, and after show is highly encouraged and very enjoyable.

We are located in the city of Bend in Central Oregon. We are 20 miles east of Sisters, where the Sister folk festival is held. We are 109 miles east of Salem, and 100 miles north east of Eugene.

The musical focus of this series is singer/songwriter, folk, blues and acoustical music that is not widely available in the other venues in the area. The social focus of the series is on good music, good people and good times in a fun, non smoking environment.

Sound interesting? Then check out our schedule, and plan to attend one of the shows coming up. We'd love to have you join us. Reservations are required.
